Government unveils update to Policy paper: Environmental Improvement Plan 2023
The 25 Year Environment Plan (2018) aimed to deliver cleaner air and water in cities and rural area. The plan sought to protect threatened species and wildlife habitats and a more sustainable approach to agriculture, forestry, land use and fishing. The Environmental Improvement Plan 2023 builds on the 25YEP vision with a new plan setting out how regulators will work to deliver each of our goals for improving the environment, matched with interim targets to measure progress.
The plan takes further action on fine particulates (PM2.5) and on ammonia from farming.
