The government today published a draft plan to improve air quality by reducing nitrogen dioxide levels in the UK.
This draft plan, which the Government had been forced to publish before the general election, has been poorly received by those involved in air quality management and health, including the IAQM and Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. In particular, it is considered that the UK government is abdicating its responsibilities and unfairly shifting the burden of dealing with dirty air on to local authorities.
